Playlist for a Geek

Hey guys! So today I will be talking about my favourite songs for nerds. Note this playlist is mostly remixes of Team Fortress 2 and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Yes...I used to be a brony. But I got through it in the end! I feel like an essex girl who's into strange music!

10. Avast Fluttershy's Ascot (20% Cooler edition) - WoodenToaster

To start our list off, we have Avast Fluttershy's Ascot by WoodenToaster. This catchy tune consists of a jumpy dance track with repetitive vocals that simply say "Yay" all the way through the song. I love this song as the music sounds like it was actually made by the EDM band Scooter. Look them up and you'll see what I mean.

9. Touch Fluffy Tail - Ken Ashcorp

Touch Fluffy Tail originated from the popular game Monster Girl Quest; a game in which the player must defeat different monsters -in the form of hot girls with added features such as tentacles. One of the moves to use is to 'Touch Fluffy Tail' which is also the title of this amazing song. You can basically say this song is about making the move! And Ken Ashcorp's sexy vocals are what make the song a sensation to listen to. Forget your Fifty Shades of Grey audio reading! This song will do.

8. Like a Boss - Blu Spy

The original version of Like A Boss by The Lonely Island has over a million views on YouTube. But I must admit, my favourite version has to be the Team Fortress 2 version. I find it more comical and the lyrics are catchy. Who doesn't want to see Spy burning Engie by simply saying 'Like a Boss'. Kind of weird when it gets to the part where he gets with Scout. Still great tune.

7. Discord - Eurobeat Brony (Remix)

Named after the God of Chaos, this song is a really crazy yet catchy song. The beat will have you bopping your head all day as you think about it at work or in school or even during your wedding or even when your in the middle of giving birth to a child.

Highly recommended song for bronies everywhere!

6. Erectin a River - Wazgul

Wazgul has given us many amazing Team Fortress 2 remixes such as NightMen and Maggot Mayim but the most popular song has to be Erectin' a River. Originating from Sidney Samson's hit track Riverside this song has a quirky tune and jumpy beat. It is guaranteed you will have your own jig to this.

5. I'm an Engineer - DWL1993

This catchy song is literally just good old Engie describing the life on an Engineer through song. I'm surprised this has not appeared on any Clubland albums. This song is so amazing I even have my own little dance to it. Maybe one day I'll show it. Maybe not.

4. 20 Percent Cooler - Ken Ashcorp

Another track from the charming Ken Ashcorp. The song is named after the common phrase used by Rainbow Dash from MLP: FiM. The song has a couple of references to the popular show yet doesn't seem to be about it at all. But still, it's a song about partying hard. Who can't love a good ole tune?

3. Winter Wrap Up (Remix) - The Living Tombstone

I actually found discovered this song as it was used in a few episodes of My Immortal: The Web Series season 2 - ah, Summer! Thanks Mediajunkie!

The song starts off slow and gives the feeling that time is changing as Winter is out the door and Spring is here. I get goosebumps when the bass drops. This song should be played at any club! This is definitely one of The Living Tombstone's best remixes!

2. At the Gala (20% Cooler Remix) - SimGretina

If you were given the choice to go to the local bar down the road to have a few pints or to go to a club blasting this amazing tune; which would you choose? This song is, hands down, the best MLP remix ever made it actually sounds like Avicii made it! Stop what you are doing right now and listen to it!

1. Engineer Techno (Ghost n Stuff remix) - MisterMild

Let's face it; put Engineer quotes over any EDM / House music and you will have an amazing dance track! This is one of the best Engineer songs as it is edited better. Just listen to his vocals. His voice actually blends with song and is even remixed. Even the sound of sentry's in the background enhance the song. This song is so amazing and convincing, you'll forget that Deadmau5 was the original creator.

So there you have it! My top ten remixes! And of course not everyone will agree. Comment below your top top nerd tunes!

Until next time guys!

Tip for surviving Lent!

Hello again, friends! Have you ever made a promise for the season of Lent and broke it about over 10 times? I have every year. Well, this year, I have made a table of things I am going off and things i am going on. I have many promises this year so the table will come in handy and hopefully will keep me motivated. I'm not really a religious person but I find Lent helpful in order to achieve something you've longed for for a while now e.g that flat stomach, those toned arms...you get me?

Basically, in the y axis of the table, write down what you are going on/off and along the x axis, write the day number. If you don't use A3 pages you may need to use 2 A4 sheets instead. Rule out lines and be creative with it if you want. Mines is all colourful and fun!

Each day that you stick by your promise leave a tick, or if you're feeling really childish, stick a gold sticker in the box. For any promises you broke put an X in the box. Use an X as some form of 'beneficial punishment'. I have decided that each X equals 5 second planks. And I don't mean planks as in just lying flat on the ground. I'm talking about the type when you balance yourself on the floor via your elbows and feet. Its excruciating! At the end of each week, I will count how many X's I have and plank for how many seconds they add up to. Hey, in the end up, it is kind of beneficial!

This year I have gone on and off many things. If you are stuck for ideas of what you'll do this year then heres a list of what I shall be doing.

  • Eat an apple a day
  • Drink a glass of water a day
  • Exercise everyday
  • Listen to the radio in the morning instead of listening to music.
  • No alcohol
  • No cursing
  • Take stairs
  • No chicken boxes* or meals similiar

I think that is about it! If you guys wanna try any of these then go ahead! You can have more than one Lent promise!

Until next time, bro-chachos!

*Chicken Box - Northern Irish meal consisting of chicken, chips, cheese, coleslaw, taco sauce, chilli sauce and garlic mayo. HEART ATTACK SPECIAL!

How Disney has inspired me

Most people I know are always confused as to why I love Disney so much. Whilst they listen to songs in the charts and I prefer to lay back and listen to Colours of the Wind

People prefer to go about their daily lives by their normal routines unlike me however. I day dream about lands that don't exist but should. Like Westeros. But with less of the violence.

People seem to keep up to date on current affairs such as elections and who got murdered in the alley next to that creepy barber shop. I just think to myself "If I had a world of my own...everything would be nonsense."

Now, I know you may be thinking that I sound crazy but I'm not. I just don't let society tell me I can't be who I want to be. You see, I was raised in a strict family that believes that the minds of children should stay innocent for as long as possible. Somethings I was against, but somethings I am grateful for. I always loved watching Disney and other animated movies. The imagery and stories gave me my creative imagination. My most favourite Disney movie was the Little Mermaid. The music and characters were so colourful and fun. I always wanted to be a mermaid. While kids my age were out burning paper bags and experimenting with cigarettes, I was indoors dressed in a crop top, colourful socks and PJ bottoms which I actually managed to stuff both legs into one trouser leg. It was supposed to be my tail. Such creativity.

As some of you know from my third vlog, I mentioned that I like to listen to my Disney playlist and imagine it came from another movie or TV show. It's true! I can imagine Daenarys Targaryen and Khal Drago from Game of Thrones dancing whilst a Dolthraki woman sings Beauty and the Beast. I think it would have been better that way.

I wish life was a Disney movie. It would be fun that way. People breaking into random songs. Tigers and monkeys are more common pets. People would fly...

I feel like I could go on forever about how Disney makes me feel. I hope you actually could bear to read it. Anyway, until next time, Brochachos!

Valentines Day: What to wear!

Hey guys! So, it's near that romantic time of year again and you're probably out looking for cute outfits to wear on Valentines Night with your besties or even with that special someone. Even if you're just out with your friends, at least you'll still look classy!

Cute and Casual
If you're going on a simple date to the best coffee shop in town or the movies, try going for a really casual look. Preferably skinny jeans with a cute t-shirt that is Valentine's Day themed with some cute flats. As for makeup, go for a natural look with a slight winged eye liner look with a lovely shade of coral on your lips. Try putting your hair in a half up-half down style. It won't be too fancy nor too under done therefore all the attention will be focused on your beautiful face.

Sexy and Seductive
So, maybe you'll be going out for a romantic dinner for your date or maybe you'll be hitting the club with your friends. You should step out in a striking red dress with heels. Try this look with smokey eyes and a deep red lipstick. Try teasing your hair or maybe even curling it to give that seductress look. The attention will be on you all night!

TOP 10 CREEPY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Hey there, friendship! Everyone had those moments when they were a child that left them horribly scarred for life and permanently damaged. Well I'm here to share some of the things that gave me the chills when I was just a little cupcake of a child.

10.) Aunt Bridie.

I was at this big family gathering thing with food and dancing; typical family gathering. I wanted to dance with my Granddad but he was already dancing with Aunt Bridie so I decided to ask politely if I could dance with him instead and she shouted at me saying that it was still her turn. Now at a young age I thought she was being serious. I then ran off to find my Mom and told her about how a witch had just screamed at me. Forgive me Aunt Bridie!

9.) Uncle Liam.
My Uncle Liam is married to my God Mother, Sharon, so he's my closest Uncle and he is such a nice person. He's also a taxi driver and needs to wear glasses when he's driving. He always has a smile to give. But when I was a kid, we would sometimes get a lift home from town with him and I remember I always was creeped out by him when he was wearing his glasses. It was kind of like when a Daddy with a beard shaves and his kid doesn't recognize him. I always thought Uncle Liam looked very serious with his glasses on. But he was just concentrating on driving.

8.) Dogs.
I was walking down the street one day and a dog came right up and jumped up on me. He didn't go crazy or anything, he was kind of calm and just wanted someone to pet him. But I just screamed and ran off. I don't know why this scared me but I just hated it and for years after I hated dogs. But now, I love dogs so thank god I got over that fear.

7.) Going to the doctors to get a 'jag'.
OK, so in my town, a 'jag' commonly means an injection. I was terrified of going to get a jag! I remember my Mom tried to pick me up and put down on the Doctor's knee and I kept kicking her in the stomach whilst crying. She somehow seemed to get the needle in my arm which I screamed at when I saw. Nowadays though, I do still kind of get a fear of getting a needle in my arm, but last time I did I literally felt nothing. Hopefully it stays like that in the future.

6.) Bath time.

I used to hate getting baths cause Mom would always pour water over my head to rinse out the shampoo. I hated the stinging sensation it gave to my eyes. She tried everything to get me to settle and stop squirming about the tub. Eventually it lead to buying that L'OrĂ©al Kids stuff which promised "no more tears". Ha! Lies! That stuff burned like acid! I couldn't trust anybody!

I remember in nursery, we got this new play pit that would be filled with water for rubber ducks and boats and such. I was too small to see inside the pit when the school first brought it in so I didn't know if there was anything in it or not. I remember one of the teachers was like "Does anyone want to sit in it?" And no one volunteered so I got chosen. When they picked me up to put me inside, I swear, I had never screamed or cried as much in my life. I was kicking the woman and slapping her upside the head just so she could put me down. It turned out the pit was empty. I think I did eventually sit in the empty pit then.

5.) Music.

So when I was a youngin, I used to hear certain songs that would creep me out or really just scare me to death! One of them though was an irrational fear as many people like this song. It still creeps me out listening to it so be grateful that I went hunting for it. The reason this song caused me fear was because the tune genuinely freaked me out. I remember I went to this kids disco and the place was like pitch black and everyone was dancing about. The next thing I know, that song comes on and I literally sat in the corner cowering. I think it was more the fact that it was dark in the place that made the song scary.

Another song I found creepy as a kid was Little April Shower from Bambi. The "Drip, drip, drop, little April shower" part was fine with me. But when it got to the part with the storm, I was literally reduced to screams and tears. My parents used to play it all the time to tease me. Such lovely parents. I believe this fear was more rational because that song was genuinely creepy!

4.) Close up shots of creepy eyes in movies.

Walt Disney's Mulan (1998)

Richard Rich's The Swan Princess 2 (1997)

As a kid, I remember watching movies made by Disney, Dreamworks, Don Bluth and many other amazing animation companies. But I always had this fear of close up shots on creepy eyes. I kind of felt like they were looking at me and not the characters in the movies. For example, above I have added an image of Rothbart from The Swan Princess. His eyes are kind of looking straight ahead which really gave me the feeling of dominance and it creeped me out big style! Did anyone else fear this as a kid?

3.) Going outside.

I was a loser kid. I didn't have friends at all and I was always afraid to go outside due to one major douche in particular. To hide his identity, in case any of my readers are friends with him, I have named him 'Peanuts' which I have referred to him for a few years now.

Peanuts used to always hit me with planks, chains and rocks and it really scared me so I never left the house. None of my teachers in school would ever help me. My parents didn't actually do anything to help the situations I was getting in with him. He was just plain nasty and always had something horrid to say to me. Not to mention we went to the same Primary school too. He used to spit in my food and throw things at me. When he saw me, it was like he had to hurt me. He would always come up and hit with with things and it just really hurt in general. That's why I'm always so quiet and sheltered these days. Afraid in case I meet someone just like Peanuts. Douche stole my bike too.

2.) The Scary Maze game.
I remember in Primary School all the boys always talked about this "scary maze game" that they had gone home to play. Since I grew up in a rough Primary School the boys were always like "Wise up! It didn't even scare me!" So I thought I would go home and look it up. *WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME, DON'T! IT WILL CAUSE HEART PROBLEMS! :'3 * So everything was good in the beginning. It was just a colourful maze. After a while this image popped up and a loud screaming sound went off.

I just sat staring at it and felt my heart jump into my throat. Finally I closed the screen down and sat in a moment of silence. After a while I kind of let out a whimper and was like "Mommy...can you come here, please?" Worst thing is all Mom said was "You shoudn't have went on it then!" Again, lovely parents.

I'm gonna move on now as I actually can feel the anxiety rising just thinking about that game!

1.) Sharks.

When I was younger, I used to play Banjo Kazooie on the Nintendo 64 all the time. My favourite level was Treasure Trove Cove cause it was a beach and I love water and swimming. So if you jumped into the sea you would be chased by this shark called Snacker. I remember the first time I played the game. I went under the water and put on the first person view and I was wondering why the hell there was jaws music playing all of a sudden. So I turned around to see what it was and there was Snacker; face to face with me. It was so abrupt, I screamed so loud. To this day, I still do have a fear of sharks. It is an irrational fear but everyone to their own I guess.

So that was my top 10 creepy childhood memories. Hope you guys enjoyed it! See yah next time!
