TOP 10 CREEPY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Hey there, friendship! Everyone had those moments when they were a child that left them horribly scarred for life and permanently damaged. Well I'm here to share some of the things that gave me the chills when I was just a little cupcake of a child.

10.) Aunt Bridie.

I was at this big family gathering thing with food and dancing; typical family gathering. I wanted to dance with my Granddad but he was already dancing with Aunt Bridie so I decided to ask politely if I could dance with him instead and she shouted at me saying that it was still her turn. Now at a young age I thought she was being serious. I then ran off to find my Mom and told her about how a witch had just screamed at me. Forgive me Aunt Bridie!

9.) Uncle Liam.
My Uncle Liam is married to my God Mother, Sharon, so he's my closest Uncle and he is such a nice person. He's also a taxi driver and needs to wear glasses when he's driving. He always has a smile to give. But when I was a kid, we would sometimes get a lift home from town with him and I remember I always was creeped out by him when he was wearing his glasses. It was kind of like when a Daddy with a beard shaves and his kid doesn't recognize him. I always thought Uncle Liam looked very serious with his glasses on. But he was just concentrating on driving.

8.) Dogs.
I was walking down the street one day and a dog came right up and jumped up on me. He didn't go crazy or anything, he was kind of calm and just wanted someone to pet him. But I just screamed and ran off. I don't know why this scared me but I just hated it and for years after I hated dogs. But now, I love dogs so thank god I got over that fear.

7.) Going to the doctors to get a 'jag'.
OK, so in my town, a 'jag' commonly means an injection. I was terrified of going to get a jag! I remember my Mom tried to pick me up and put down on the Doctor's knee and I kept kicking her in the stomach whilst crying. She somehow seemed to get the needle in my arm which I screamed at when I saw. Nowadays though, I do still kind of get a fear of getting a needle in my arm, but last time I did I literally felt nothing. Hopefully it stays like that in the future.

6.) Bath time.

I used to hate getting baths cause Mom would always pour water over my head to rinse out the shampoo. I hated the stinging sensation it gave to my eyes. She tried everything to get me to settle and stop squirming about the tub. Eventually it lead to buying that L'OrĂ©al Kids stuff which promised "no more tears". Ha! Lies! That stuff burned like acid! I couldn't trust anybody!

I remember in nursery, we got this new play pit that would be filled with water for rubber ducks and boats and such. I was too small to see inside the pit when the school first brought it in so I didn't know if there was anything in it or not. I remember one of the teachers was like "Does anyone want to sit in it?" And no one volunteered so I got chosen. When they picked me up to put me inside, I swear, I had never screamed or cried as much in my life. I was kicking the woman and slapping her upside the head just so she could put me down. It turned out the pit was empty. I think I did eventually sit in the empty pit then.

5.) Music.

So when I was a youngin, I used to hear certain songs that would creep me out or really just scare me to death! One of them though was an irrational fear as many people like this song. It still creeps me out listening to it so be grateful that I went hunting for it. The reason this song caused me fear was because the tune genuinely freaked me out. I remember I went to this kids disco and the place was like pitch black and everyone was dancing about. The next thing I know, that song comes on and I literally sat in the corner cowering. I think it was more the fact that it was dark in the place that made the song scary.

Another song I found creepy as a kid was Little April Shower from Bambi. The "Drip, drip, drop, little April shower" part was fine with me. But when it got to the part with the storm, I was literally reduced to screams and tears. My parents used to play it all the time to tease me. Such lovely parents. I believe this fear was more rational because that song was genuinely creepy!

4.) Close up shots of creepy eyes in movies.

Walt Disney's Mulan (1998)

Richard Rich's The Swan Princess 2 (1997)

As a kid, I remember watching movies made by Disney, Dreamworks, Don Bluth and many other amazing animation companies. But I always had this fear of close up shots on creepy eyes. I kind of felt like they were looking at me and not the characters in the movies. For example, above I have added an image of Rothbart from The Swan Princess. His eyes are kind of looking straight ahead which really gave me the feeling of dominance and it creeped me out big style! Did anyone else fear this as a kid?

3.) Going outside.

I was a loser kid. I didn't have friends at all and I was always afraid to go outside due to one major douche in particular. To hide his identity, in case any of my readers are friends with him, I have named him 'Peanuts' which I have referred to him for a few years now.

Peanuts used to always hit me with planks, chains and rocks and it really scared me so I never left the house. None of my teachers in school would ever help me. My parents didn't actually do anything to help the situations I was getting in with him. He was just plain nasty and always had something horrid to say to me. Not to mention we went to the same Primary school too. He used to spit in my food and throw things at me. When he saw me, it was like he had to hurt me. He would always come up and hit with with things and it just really hurt in general. That's why I'm always so quiet and sheltered these days. Afraid in case I meet someone just like Peanuts. Douche stole my bike too.

2.) The Scary Maze game.
I remember in Primary School all the boys always talked about this "scary maze game" that they had gone home to play. Since I grew up in a rough Primary School the boys were always like "Wise up! It didn't even scare me!" So I thought I would go home and look it up. *WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME, DON'T! IT WILL CAUSE HEART PROBLEMS! :'3 * So everything was good in the beginning. It was just a colourful maze. After a while this image popped up and a loud screaming sound went off.

I just sat staring at it and felt my heart jump into my throat. Finally I closed the screen down and sat in a moment of silence. After a while I kind of let out a whimper and was like "Mommy...can you come here, please?" Worst thing is all Mom said was "You shoudn't have went on it then!" Again, lovely parents.

I'm gonna move on now as I actually can feel the anxiety rising just thinking about that game!

1.) Sharks.

When I was younger, I used to play Banjo Kazooie on the Nintendo 64 all the time. My favourite level was Treasure Trove Cove cause it was a beach and I love water and swimming. So if you jumped into the sea you would be chased by this shark called Snacker. I remember the first time I played the game. I went under the water and put on the first person view and I was wondering why the hell there was jaws music playing all of a sudden. So I turned around to see what it was and there was Snacker; face to face with me. It was so abrupt, I screamed so loud. To this day, I still do have a fear of sharks. It is an irrational fear but everyone to their own I guess.

So that was my top 10 creepy childhood memories. Hope you guys enjoyed it! See yah next time!
